After gaining an HND, in Sport and Business, from Southampton Institute, I became a personal trainer. The leisure industry has always been somewhere that I felt I fit, and could do a lot of good. I worked my way up through the ranks, learning lots of different skills on the way, into the management teams of local leisure centres. While this was rewarding, in its own way, I realised that I’d moved away from what I loved; working with people to achieve great things. The decision was made, I wanted to retrain and qualify in Sports Massage Therapy, to get back to working with people. My SMT training, ASA swimming instruction skills, personal training experience and passion for outdoor sports all complement and support each other.
I have always had a huge passion for outdoor sports. I’m very proud to have trained for, and completed, a couple of marathons. One of my biggest achievements was competing in the Tromsø Skyrace, in 2019. I am also a keen cyclist, having completed a few sportives and more recently moving into mountain biking. This year I have raced in my first mountain bike Enduro, XC mountain bike event and Triathlon, in November I have my first Dualathlon in Afan.
I also love to learn and have since completing my Level 3 Sports Massage course, I have completed the Rocktapes FMT Level 1 course and have started and currently studying for my Level 4 Sports Massage Therapy qualification. I am really excited to be coming on board and getting hands on!
