INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE
Indian Head Massage is part of the Ayurvedic Bodywork anti-ageing system from India. Indian Head Massage is an invigorating treatment that will leave you calmer but with yours senses enhanced.
Indian head Massage has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. Its an everyday part of family life and is used in healing, relaxation and trips to the barber. Indian head massage was brought to the west by Narenda Mehta in the 1970’s and the therapy was extended to include the face, ears, neck, shoulders and upper arms.
If you are suffering from back, neck, shoulder pain or frequent headaches, Indian Head Massage could really benefit you. It is effective for relieving tension that can cause pain and muscle tightness for example from hours at a computer desk. As well as being deeply relaxing, it can also revitalise you if you feel constantly tired and lack energy.
The facial massage involves the massage of acupressure points on the face which enhance your wellbeing and help you feel balanced.
What to expect
You will be asked to lie on your front to commence the treatment and the upper back, shoulders, arms, neck and head will be massaged using massage oil. Oils used on the hair are optional, but can really help to improve the condition of dry, damaged hair and a dry scalp. You will then be asked to turn over onto your front to receive the facial massage which concentrates on specific acupressure points.
